The Blizzards release quarantine-created video for 'Pound the Pavement'

Friday 8th, 2020

BY: THE EIREWAVE NEWSDECK

The Blizzards released their 1st single of 2020 Pound the Pavement on March 27th. To date the song has received incredible support.

To coincide with the release, the band were due to film a performance-based music video, but out of respect for the current restrictions, the band cancelled the shoot. Instead, they’re working on a way to create a video that brings the band together as abstract versions of themselves performing in a virtual location.

To achieve this goal, The Blizzards are collaborating with Algorithm Productions, a creative production studio based in Dublin. Algorithm build stunning, powerful and memorable pieces that push boundaries using their technical expertise and flair for experimental art. The video concept is a continuation of The Blizzards’ album cover from The Last Great Algorithm depicting the brain scans of all 4 band members whilst engaged in playing their instruments. This will be combined with Algorithm Productions’ vision to use a Mocap suit (Motion Capture Suit) from Target 3D in the UK.

The video marks a creative step in being one of the first occasions that this technology has been used to record motion data of band members performing from their homes. This data will be transformed using 3D imaging and technical wizardry from the team in Algorithm Productions to represent real live performances of Bressie, Dec, Louize and Justin in abstract form and bringing them together to create an aesthetically striking music video that serves to reflect the message of the song.

POUND THE PAVEMENT is about taking control back when you think you have lost it. The song projects a message of hope, grit and determination to overcome the challenges we are all facing today.
